The SZX10 microscope is the logical choice when large working distance and field size are important. Our lens system is designed so users can observe and document samples in their original, authentic colors without distortion. With ergonomic components, such as longer eye tubes, users maintain a natural posture while using the microscope.
Zoom knob with click-stop |
With a wide zoom range of 0.63x to 6.3x, users can observe samples at a range of magnifications without having to switch objective lenses. A specially designed dual objective holder with axial detent further extends the range of possible magnifications. The axial light path setting ensures that measurements taken with the camera are reliable and precise in all directions making results independent from the orientation of the sample under the microscope.
Since many imaging and measuring tasks require the use of the same zoom magnification setting to ensure consistent and comparable results, the integrated 11-position click-stop makes it easy to record and reproduce zoom settings. |

Low-profile LED Illumination Base | The Olympus SZX series features the unique Olympus LED base system for fine control of transmitted illumination and bright, even images. With the ultra-slim 40 mm base, the SZX2 series has the ergonomic stage height available. Moreover, a novel carousel makes it easy to select and control brightfield, darkfield, and oblique illumination. The long-life LEDs do not heat the stage or sample, greatly enhancing the flexibility for material stereo microscopy. |
Versatile reflected illumination units including the ring light illuminator and coaxial illuminator. Choose the illumination system based on your specific application requirements.

With the SZX10 you will want to document or show live digital views of your sample. By utilizing a trinocular head and moving the objective in the axial imaging pathway a perpendicular view of the sample is obtained. Attaching the Olympus DP cooled digital camera produces a very flexible imaging station. This is designed for high resolution documentation (up to 17.3 mega pixels) as well as high-speed imaging for live views. The advanced interface enables excellent color reproduction and no visible color shifts during sample movement.
OLYMPUS Stream imaging software offers all the tools required to undertake simple 2D measurements through complex analysis in an easy to use environment and supports a multitude of operations including observation, report generation, database creation, and archiving. The SZX10 motorized focus drive makes digital documentation efficient and fully automatic with extended focal imaging (EFI). EFI enables users to easily create pseudo-3D images.
Olympus offers a complete line up of digital cameras and analysis/measurement software. Your Olympus representative will help you choose which products best meet your requirements.

The ergonomic long tilting trinocular provides an optimized work position by bringing the microscope closer to the user while the extendable eyepoint adjuster provides flexibility for users of different heights. The SZX series’ ergonomic instruments reduce stress during observation by providing the most comfortable position for each user, increasing work efficiency.
Olympus research established a correlation between stereo microscope optical systems and eyestrain. Certain convergence angles between the left and right optical paths can cause discomfort. The SZX2 series is designed with a convergence angle that completely compensates for each optical path. This solution effectively eliminates eyestrain, even during prolonged observation. |
The position of the zoom knob, size and position of the coarse/fine focusing knob, and the fine focus stroke are designed for easy operation. The enhanced fine focus stroke results in easy and precise focusing. |
Illumination stands are designed to be easy to use and fatigue-free. The slim LED transmitted light illumination stand, at approximately 40 mm in height, features easily adjustable fingertip illumination control and provides easy access to samples. |
