X-ray fluorescence (XRF) has extensive applications in the inspection services market. It is fundamental for positive material identification (PMI) for in-the-field and plant maintenance. This talk explores the basics of XRF theory, and the application of XRF for positive material identification (PMI) and weld inspection. Special attention is given to relevant applications of this technology in the oil and gas (O&G) sector. Testing methods, sample considerations, and strategies and tools for data management are discussed.

Chaque jour, il aide les utilisateurs d’appareils XRF à trouver des solutions adaptées à leurs besoins. Michael est titulaire d’un doctorat en chimie inorganique de l’université de Notre-Dame. Il utilise des techniques à rayons X à des fins de caractérisation structurelle, de détermination de compositions et d’identification analytique. Il a été membre du corps enseignant de l’université d’État du nord-ouest du Missouri avant de rejoindre Evident et a été chercheur invité à l’université Rice et à la Colorado School of Mines.
