Olympus announces an important partnership with MSC Cruises, one of the world's leading cruise ship operators, to supply several IPLEX FX videoscopes for its fleet of some of the largest and most technologically advanced passenger liners afloat today. The partnership aims to increase the safety of machinery and equipment aboard the MSC Cruises ships, using the latest technological innovation to be employed in the shipbuilding industry: the portable videoscope IPLEX FX.
The IPLEX FX features a 6.5" daylight-viewing LCD monitor, a highly portable control unit housed in a magnesium chassis, which is water/dust/shock proof and a flexible insertion tube that can be used to inspect engines, hull bulkheads and auxiliary equipments and installations. By using Remote Visual Inspection, MSC Cruises technicians will quickly be able to check remote, hard-to-access areas without having to perform expensive disassembly. It is particularly useful for identifying
occlusion in tubes and filters, detect cracks and corrosion due to rust, and identifying other various defects..
